Azure Service Bus hostname conflicts resolution

By : Peter Chen

This might help you This name is universal in Azure. If you've created a Namespace with some name, then no other user can create a Namespace with that same name.
Essentially the URL for your Azure Service Bus has to be unique in Azure ecosystem i.e. no two users can have a URL .servicebus.windows.net.

Zookeeper: Hostname resolution fails

will help you I found a working solution for this issue. ZooKeeper reads the list of servers in the ensemble on startup and looks for its "own" entry. It then uses this entry to determine which port and interface to listen on.
code :
server.1=zookeeper-0.zookeeper-headless:2888:3888
server.2=zookeeper-1.zookeeper-headless:2888:3888
server.3=zookeeper-2.zookeeper-headless:2888:3888
server.1=0.0.0.0:2888:3888
server.2=zookeeper-1.zookeeper-headless:2888:3888
server.3=zookeeper-2.zookeeper-headless:2888:3888
#!/bin/bash
# This script extracts the number out of the pod's hostname and sets it as zookeepers id.

# Exact paths may vary according to your setup
MYID_FILE="/var/lib/zookeeper/data/myid"
ZOOCFG_FILE="/conf/zoo.cfg"

# Create myid-file
# Extract only numbers from hostname
id=$(hostname | tr -d -c 0-9)
echo $id > "${MYID_FILE}"

# change own hostname to 0.0.0.0
# otherwise, the own hostname will resolve to 127.0.0.1
# https://stackoverflow.com/a/40750900/5764665
fullHostname="$(hostname).zookeeper-headless"
sed -i -e "s/${fullHostname}/0.0.0.0/g" "${ZOOCFG_FILE}"

echo "Executing $@"
exec "$@"

PhpStorm multi-docker hostname resolution

To fix the issue you can do As it happens, my docker environment is built with docker-compose, and all the relevant containers are on the same network, and have a proper depends_on hierarchy.
However. PHPStorm was actually set up to use plain docker, rather than docker-compose. It was connecting fine to the docker daemon, but because the container wasn't being build composer-aware, it wasn't leveraging the network layout that was defined in my docker-compose.yml. Once I told PHPStorm to use docker-compose, it worked fine.
code :
version: '3'

services:
  web: &web
    build: ./web
    container_name: dev_web
    ports:
      - "80:80"
    volumes:
      - ${PROJECTS_DIR}/project:/srv/project
      - ./web/logs/httpd:/var/log/httpd
    depends_on:
      - "db"
    networks:
      - backend

  web-debug:
    << : *web
    container_name: dev_web_debug
    ports:
      - "8181:80"
    command: php -v

  db:
    image: mysql
    container_name: dev_db
    ports:
      - "3306:3306"
    volumes:
      - ./db/conf.d:/etc/mysql/conf.d
      - ./db/data:/var/lib/mysql
    environment:
      MYSQL_ROOT_PASSWORD: root
    networks:
      - backend

networks:
  backend:
    driver: bridge

How to make `requests` use a different hostname for TLS validation than DNS resolution?

By : llaaww
Date : March 29 2020, 07:55 AM
this one helps. Requests supports SSL Verification by default. However, it relies on the user making a request with the URL that has the hostname in it. If, however, the user needs to make a request with the IP address, they cannot actually verify a certificate against the hostname they want to request.
To accomodate this need, there is HostHeaderSSLAdapter. Example usage:
code :
import requests
from requests_toolbelt.adapters import host_header_ssl
s = requests.Session()
s.mount('https://', host_header_ssl.HostHeaderSSLAdapter())
s.get("https://my-search-domain.example.com", headers={"Host": "vpc-elasti-xyz.us-east-1.es.amazonaws.com"})

Avahi Hostname Resolution: Is it caching somewhere?

it fixes the issue I see that I'm a bit late to answer your question but I'm going to leave a generic answer in case someone else stumbles upon this.
My answer is based on avahi-0.6.32_rc.
