    FILE *infile = fopen("data.txt", "r");
    int i=0, n;
    while(fscanf(infile, "%19s %19[^,], %d", temp.name, temp.surname, &temp.code)==3){
        a[i++] = temp;
        if(i==3)break;
    }
    fclose(infile);
    n = i;
    for(i=0;i<n;++i){

reading files: How file pointer is moved using fscanf and how scanf/fscanf work with missing %type

I hope this helps .
The rule is very simple: fgets() reads an entire line, unless the length of the line exceeds the provided buffer, in which case it reads as much as it can. fscanf(), on the other hand, reads what you tell it to, skipping the preceding whitespace. For example, given a line "1 2 3" (without quotes), fgets() will read the whole line, while fscanf(fp, "%d %d", &i1, &i2) will read two integers and store them to the provided addresses, and leave " 3" (note included whitespace) unread.

// bottle-0.33:0.10
fscanf(file,"%[^-]-%f[^:]:%f\n", pLog->name, &pLog->size, &pLog->price);
// assume sizeof pLog->name is 10
if (fscanf(file,"%9[^-]-%f:%f\n", pLog->name, &pLog->size, &pLog->price) == 3)
  Success();
}

I wish this helpful for you I'm new at programming in C (it's my first language) and I'm not so good at english, so sorry for the grammar... By the way, I was wondering if you could help me with this: I have to read from file the components of the array, setting them as part of it and see them as output in the screen. I created a file with this informations:
code :
fscanf(file,"%[^,],%[^,],%[^,],%[^,],%[^,],%[^,],[^\n]",...
