Infinite loop on my unit test is confusing me

Any of those help If optInput is non-null but isn't one of "a", "s", "m" or "d", you'll just keep looping round and trying it again - it won't ask for more input (which it can't really, given that it's a unit test).
Fundamentally I think it would be worth trying to abstract the interaction part to something more amenable to unit testing - something where you can write tests for 'What happens if the user first inputs "x" and then "m"?'

How can I unit test a goroutine that runs on an infinite for loop using sync.Cond?

This might help you To my mind you are right in all of your assumptions. To avoid channel draining just use
code :
func main() {
    doStuffChan = make(chan bool)
    cond = &sync.Cond{L: &sync.Mutex{}}
    go startDoStuffLoop()

    doStuffChan <- true

func startDoStuffLoop() {
    for {
        result = "success"

Unit test that proves code avoids infinite loop

hop of those help? Unit tests generally rely on the code under test creating some kind of observable result - a return value, a change in object state or an exception for example - that can be inspected by the test code. Code that never finishes executing doesn't fit easily with this paradigm, but there are a few approaches you could take.

Unit Test For Infinite Loop

I hope this helps you . You need to replace the code inside the infinite loop with a function.
You then write a unit test for that function.

it fixes the issue Maybe processor is caching pack value as null. Try to define this variable as instance field and mark it as volatile (to be on the safe side). Though this doesn't explain why No problem when launch with nunit-console (2.6.2 / 2.6.4), with or without optimization
