Getting Application Defined or User Defined Error

I hope this helps .
Cells(47, … does not refer to the same sheet as Sheet7.Range you must specify a worksheet for every Cells object too. Like: …Sheet7.Range(Sheet7.Cells(47, …
code :
Option Explicit

Public Sub Example()
    Dim CellsProcedured As Long

    Dim iRow As Long
    For iRow = 2 To 51

        Dim iColumn As Long
        For iColumn = 4 To 44

            Dim MatchResult As Double
            On Error GoTo NO_MATCH
            MatchResult = Application.WorksheetFunction.Match(Sheet8.Cells(iRow, 1).Value, Sheet7.Range("A47:A904"), 0)
            On Error GoTo 0

            On Error GoTo NO_INDEX
            Sheet8.Cells(iRow, iColumn) = Application.WorksheetFunction.Index(Sheet7.Range(Sheet7.Cells(47, iColumn - 1), Sheet7.Cells(904, iColumn - 1)), MatchResult)
            On Error GoTo 0

            CellsProcedured = CellsProcedured + 1
            Sheet1.Range("D1") = 2

        Next iColumn
    Next iRow

    Exit Sub

    MsgBox "The value '" & Sheet8.Cells(iRow, 1).Value & "' was not found in Range A47:A904. Aborting."

    Exit Sub

    MsgBox "Index failed at cell(" & iRow & ", " & iColumn & "). Aborting."
End Sub

Using Range(Cells() Cells()).Style results in application defined or user defined error

I wish this help you You are using the Cells global object in the second snippet, but explicitly referencing the .Cells property of the worksheet in the first snippet. The second one will actually work, but only if the active worksheet matches the one you're getting from ActiveWorkbook.Sheets(). Grab a reference to the target worksheet, and then use its .Cells property instead of the global:
code :
ElseIf OneA / OneC > 0.8 And OneA / OneC <= 1 Then
    Dim target As Worksheet
    Set target = ActiveWorkbook.Sheets(StartYear & " " & StartQ & " - " & EndYear & " " & EndQ)
    With target
        .Range(.Cells(Employee, StartCol), .Cells(Employee + 49, StartCol)).Style = "60% - Accent2"
    End With

This might help you Apologies I forgot to post the corrected code earlier.
Previously, I was counting all rows in the sheet where I wanted to count all of the rows with data in. Cheers Davesexcel for pointing out the obvious error!
code :
 Sub count_activations() 'to count 01 combinations in sheet

    Dim row As Long
    Dim col As Long
    Dim r As Long
    Dim c As Integer
    Dim activation_count As Integer

        With Sheets("Link_TSR 10yr_Year 1_RTC1 Whitl")
        row = .Cells(.Rows.Count, "A").End(xlUp).row 'counts only the used cells in column A
        col = .Cells(1, Columns.Count).End(xlToLeft).Column
    For c = 3 To col
        activation_count = 0

            For r = 4 To row

                If Cells(r, c).Value = 0 And Cells(r - 1, c).Value = 1 Then
                activation_count = activation_count + 1
                End If
            Next r
                .Cells(r + 1, c).Value = activation_count
        Next c

    End With

End Sub

Any of those help First, I need to clarify that this is NOT a VBA related question. This error is occurring on a release program of Visual Basic 6.0 that has nothing to do with MS Office. , Based on your comment that
code :
<typelib tlbid="{F24DF9F0-C974-4307-A096-3A006918FB86}"

User input range set color, value, Bold: Run Time Error '1004': Application Defined - Object Defined error

I wish this help you Your syntax is off. Rng is already a range so no need to wrap it in 'Range' (or Select).
You might want to first check something is returned by the inputbox.
code :
Sub Q3()

  Dim Rng As Range

  Set Rng = Application.InputBox("Range:", Type:=8)
  With Rng
    .Value = "test"
    .Font.Bold = True
    .Font.Color = -16776961
  End With

End Sub
