How to call gcloud compute instances create-with-container with container entrypoint arguments

To fix this issue I would ask, how is your ENTRYPOINT defined in your Dockerfile. Are you using the exec or the shell form?
I would think that you're using the exec form as when running it locally you're just appending the two arguments to the docker run command and they are successfully passed over. I mention this as ENTRYPOINT defined in shell form doesn't accept arguments being passed as per the docs.

Create AWS Batch Managed Compute Environment passing UserData to Container Instances

By : Stina Kallin

will help you You can create an AMI based on the AWS provided AMI, and customize it. It will still be managed since the Batch and/or ECS daemon is running on it.
As a side note I’m trying to do the same thing but no luck so far. I may end up creating a custom AMI and include the configure script in the AMI itself in /etc/rc.local. Not ideal but I don’t think Batch can pass a user data script other than what it needs. I am still looking into this.

I hope this helps you . You should be able to use this documentation to generate the appropriate curl commands to extract your metadata: https://cloud.google.com/compute/docs/storing-retrieving-metadata
You can then use the extracted values to set your environment variables.

hop of those help? When you create a cluster though $ gcloud container clusters create command you should keep in mind that there are hundreds of operations hidden.
When you have the owner rights then you are able to give the initial "Kick" to the process to make everything start. At this point Service accounts starts to enter in the process and they taking care of creating all the resource for you, automatically.
