will be helpful for those in need , You need to cast userGuess as an integer. i.e.
code :
import random
userGuess=int(input("Please guess a 4 digit number, if you get it correct, we'll tell you, otherwise we will tell if you got any of the positions of the numbers correct\n"))
if userGuess==randomNum:
    print("Congratulations, you guessed the number correctly")

Hope this helps IDLE swaps out the sys.stdout and sys.stderr objects at the Python level this causes issues with some pyd modules. Try using another debugger.

will be helpful for those in need The simple fix could be by swapping lines your function as shown below:
code :
private void customfn(object source, ElapsedEventArgs e)
    if (thetimeinsecs >= 5)
    {// this if statment stop the timer after 5 seconds but doesnt work
        starttodisplaytimeronscreen = false;// supposed to stop displaying the message box after 5 secods
        thetimeinsecs = 0;

    if (starttodisplaytimeronscreen == true)
    { // starttodisplaytimeronscreen becomes true if the button is clicked
        thetimeinsecs = thetimeinsecs + 1;
        MessageBox.Show("seconds since  pressed= " + thetimeinsecs.ToString(), "seconds since pressed= " + thetimeinsecs.ToString());

I hope this helps . By changing the position of certain code in the JS file, the question is solved.

when i run .onclick, it runs once, and then it doesnt work again

fixed the issue. Will look into that further The first answer is right, your pos variable revalue to 200 when you click your button everytime. So it is just from 200 to 250 everytime.it look like same everytime. try like this:
code :
var left = document.getElementById("left");
left.onclick = moveLeft;

var pos = 200;
function moveLeft() {
  var box = document.getElementById("box1");
  if (pos < 500) {
    pos = pos + 50
    box.style.right = pos + "px";

Javascript beginner inquiry. Identified problematic line of code but dont know why it doesnt work

hop of those help? Numbers don't have a length; strings do. nextInt.length always returns undefined, which means you're setting i to NaN. Try nextInt.toString().length instead.
