How To Set TimeZone in Swift

By : calvinpower
Date : September 17 2020, 05:00 AM
around this issue You can use a Swift DateFormatter to make the date more human readable and adjust for timezone differences.
code :
    let dateFormatter = DateFormatter()
    dateFormatter.dateStyle = .long
    dateFormatter.timeStyle = .none

    // Then select your timezone.
    // Either by abbreviation or defaulting to the system timezone.
    dateFormatter.timeZone = TimeZone(abbreviation: "EST")
    dateFormatter.timeZone = TimeZone.current

    let dateString = dateFormatter.string(from: date)

How can I shift timezone of Date object created in local timezone to target timezone in GWT client?

it should still fix some issue Your code looks about right. Using DateTimeFormat.parse might make the intention clearer to a casual reader. It's not very often that you are given timezones A and B and one Date object, and you have to produce a new Date object that, when formatted in B, has the same time as the original when formatted in A.

wish helps you Your input is not ISO 8601 compliant format, you should add "YYYY-MM-DD h:mm A" format parameter when parsing it.
Your code gives Deprecation Warning, so you have to use moment(String, String) parsing method as suggested in the parsing guide.
code :
var m = moment.tz("2017-09-04 1:48 PM", "YYYY-MM-DD h:mm A", "Asia/Calcutta").format("DD-MM-YYYY HH:mm A");
console.log( m );
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/moment.js/2.18.1/moment.min.js"></script>
<script src="https://cdnjs.cloudflare.com/ajax/libs/moment-timezone/0.5.13/moment-timezone-with-data-2012-2022.min.js"></script>

I think the issue was by ths following , I think you are looking for this method
localizedName(for style: NSTimeZone.NameStyle, locale: Locale?)
code :
TimeZone(abbreviation: "UTC+07")!.localizedName(for: .shortStandard, locale: nil)! // => GMT+7
.standard
.shortStandard
.daylightSaving
.shortDaylightSaving
.generic
.shortGeneric

When the timezone is adjusted to user's timezone when retrieving data from TIMESTAMP WITH LOCAL TIMEZONE column?

I hope this helps you . The database does it. If you store the same nominal moment in time in timestamp, timestamp with time zone and timestamp with local time zone columns:
code :
create table t42 (id number,
  ts timestamp,
  tstz timestamp with time zone,
  tsltz timestamp with local time zone
);
insert into t42 (id, ts, tstz, tsltz)
values (1,
  timestamp '2019-08-13 07:13:20 UTC',
  timestamp '2019-08-13 07:13:20 UTC',
  timestamp '2019-08-13 07:13:20 UTC'
);
insert into t42 (id, ts, tstz, tsltz)
values (2,
  timestamp '2019-08-13 12:34:56.789 Australia/Sydney',
  timestamp '2019-08-13 12:34:56.789 Australia/Sydney',
  timestamp '2019-08-13 12:34:56.789 Australia/Sydney'
);

To fix the issue you can do I finally fix it by doing the following:
Run ln -fs /usr/share/zoneinfo/UTC /etc/timezone and Modify /etc/sysconfig/clock
