may help you . In each function you have an arguments object see the section Rest, default, and destructured parameters as it states:
code :
const mCalc = (_operator, ...args) => {
  if(_operator === '+') {
      return args.reduce((a, c) => a + c, 0);
  }

  // rest what you want to implement
}

const result = mCalc('+', 3, 5, 6, 2);

console.log(result);

help you fix your problem It's better to have repeated arithmetic operation than more IO
-- ADDED LATER
code :
select calc.amtpercent
  from ( select (amount1-amount2)/cast(amount1 as float) as amtpercent from z8Test) calc
 where calc.amtpercent > 1 OR calc.amtpercent < 0.3

select (amount1-amount2)/cast(amount1 as float) as amtpercent
  from z8Test
 where (amount1-amount2)/cast(amount1 as float)  > 1
    or (amount1-amount2)/cast(amount1 as float)  < 0.3

select (amount1-amount2)/cast(amount1 as float) as amtpercent
  from z8Test
 where (amount1-amount2)/cast(amount1 as float) not between 0.3 and 1

I wish did fix the issue. If the data set is larger an environment lookup using qdap's lookup function may be of use:
code :
library(qdap)
lapply(df1[, 2], lookup, df2)
df2$value <- as.numeric(df2$value) #convert your df2 value column to numeric
sapply(df1[, 2], function(x) mean(lookup(x, df2)))

This might help you Try the following. Using assign on pd.Dataframe() we get to use the created df and it's data and assign a new column.
code :
sample_df = pd.DataFrame({
'arrival_date':np.random.choice( pd.date_range('1/1/2015', periods=n,
                      freq='D'), n),
'days_stay': [random.randint(1,14) for x in range(n)],
}).assign(departure_date = lambda x: x.arrival_date + x.days_stay.apply(lambda x: pd.Timedelta(str(x)+'D')))
    arrival_date   days_stay    departure_date
0   2015-02-17     3            2015-02-20
1   2015-01-18     13           2015-01-31
2   2015-02-12     6            2015-02-18
3   2015-01-15     14           2015-01-29
4   2015-03-11     5            2015-03-16

this will help the third test condition says arguments, not an argument so maybe you will need to try spread operator instead
code :
    const defineFirstArg = (inputFunc, arg) => {

      return function (...addtionalArgs) {
        return inputFunc(arg, ...addtionalArgs)
      }
    }
  f2 = defineFirstArg(console.log,"x")
  f2("y","z",'f')
  //x y z f

wish help you to fix your issue Just use $1 twice. It is safer to connect the two commands with &&, so java is not run if the compilation is not successful.
