Why can't I initialize a loop with i = -1?

Why can't I initialize a loop with i = -1?

around this issue First of all, let's rewrite your code a little bit, for the sake of removing some confusion (because to the uninitiated there are few things going on here, that might seem similar, but are not).
code :
#include <string.h>

void print_as_according_to_strlen(char *n) {
    for (int i=0; i < strlen(newstring); i++) {
        printf("a");
    }
}
size_t strlen(const char *s);
ptrdiff_t len = strlen(newstring);
for(ptrdiff_t i=-1; i < len ; i++){

C# better to initialize list then loop over it, or just initialize in loop condition?

To fix the issue you can do The method will be called only once in both cases.
The first method has a readability advantage as you can name the variable and describe what's in it with its name. It will make the code more self-documenting and improves maintainability.
code :
 foreach (V v in x) embedded-statement
{
  E e = ((C)(x)).GetEnumerator();
  try {
  V v;
      while (e.MoveNext()) {
          v = (V)(T)e.Current;
          embedded-statement
      }
  }
  finally {
      … // Dispose e
  }
}

will be helpful for those in need I see one thing in your code:
The "do/while" condition seems to be wrong. If your intention is, as I understood, keep asking the user until s/he informs a valid quarter between 1 and 4, the condition should be something like
code :
do {
  // ...
} while (quarterNum < 1 || quarterNum > 4);

will help you I'm using java I have two final parameters. , Simply use two other temporary variables:
code :
int t1 = 0;
int t2 = 0;
for (int i = 0; i < array.size(); i++) {
    if (i == array.get(i)) {
        t1 = something;
        t2 = something;
    }
}
para1 = t1;
para2 = t2;

seems to work fine Here is the streams answer you are asking for (finding out if any two numbers in an array sum to a given value)
code :
int inputArray[] = {4, 6, 5, -10, 8, 1, 2};
int inputNumber = -8;

IntStream.range(0, inputArray.length-1).forEach(i -> IntStream.range(i+1, inputArray.length)
    .forEach(j -> {
        if (inputArray[i]+inputArray[j] == inputNumber)
            System.out.println("Found "+inputNumber+"; a["+i+"]="+inputArray[i]+" a["+j+"]="+inputArray[j]);
        }));;
Found -8; a[3]=-10 a[6]=2

wish help you to fix your issue You are a stackoverflow beginner so you might not have known this, but, for next time please paste your code into the question. Don't screenshot code.
To answer your question, you have an extra semicolon. Change to
code :
for (int position = 0; position < products.size() - 1; position++)
{
    // Etc
}
