Problem with iostream,first write file in Binary mode then convert to and save ASCII

fixed the issue. Will look into that further You seem to be saving as float and reading as double. The read will (usually) be twice as large as the write so every double you read will actually be reading two of the written floats. You will get the wrong numbers because of this.
try changing the
code :
double fnum[41616]
float fnum[41616]

hop of those help? You are looping over bytes, which gives you integers. Convert back to bytes to write to a binary file:
code :
fwbmp.write(bytes([data % 256]))
fwbmp.write(bytes([min(data, 255)]))
if data > 255:
    fwbmp.write(bytes(divmod(data, 256)))
else:
    fwbmp.write(bytes([data]))
fwbmp.write(bytes(divmod(data, 256)))

help you fix your problem Below is my code for receiving data over socket. , This can be solved just with the binary string:
code :
import struct
header = line[:2]
if header!=b'$$':
    raise RuntimeError('Wrong header')
# Assumes you want two have 2 bytes, not one word
L = struct.unpack('BB',line[2:4])
ID = struct.unpack('7B', line[4:11])
location = line[11:]
print 'L={},{}, ID={}, location={}'.format(L[1],L[2], ''.join(str(b) for b in ID, location)

hop of those help? It depends on how your two byte length is stored in the data, for example, if the first two bytes of your file (as hex) were 00 01 does this mean a message following is 1 byte long or 256 bytes long? This is referred to as either big or little endian format. Try both of the following, one should give more meaningful results, it is designed to read the data in message length chunks:
Big endian format
