Why the readonly false property is not working for the textbox?

hop of those help? You need to invoke the val() method, not compare the reference to val. Also note that the logic can be simplified. Try this:
code :
$("#Users_UserGroupID").change(function () {
  $("#Users_ClientName").prop("readonly", $("#Users_UserGroupID").val() != "2").val("")
});

help you fix your problem If a control is disabled it cannot be edited and its content is excluded when the form is submitted.
If a control is readonly it cannot be edited, but its content (if any) is still included with the submission.

XAML Textbox readonly if a bool value is false

wish help you to fix your issue I have a textbox in my xaml for an ID field that is pulled from a datasource. I want this value to be readonly so that users can't change this value. I have a button for the user to add a new object which of course will require an ID. I have a bool property on my object "IsNew" that gets set to true when the user clicks the "Add New" button. When that button is clicked, I want this textbox to be editable. So basically, when "IsNew = true". How can I accomplish this? , Use an IValueConverter:
code :
public class InvertBoolConverter : IValueConverter
{
    public object Convert(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, CultureInfo culture)
    {
        bool val = (bool)value;
        return !val;
    }

    public object ConvertBack(object value, Type targetType, object parameter, CultureInfo culture)
    {
        bool val = (bool)value;
        return !val;
    }
}
<Window x:Class="WpfApp1.MainWindow"
        xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
        xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"
        xmlns:d="http://schemas.microsoft.com/expression/blend/2008"
        xmlns:mc="http://schemas.openxmlformats.org/markup-compatibility/2006"
        xmlns:metro="http://metro.mahapps.com/winfx/xaml/controls"
        xmlns:local="clr-namespace:WpfApp1"
        xmlns:converter="clr-namespace:WpfApp1.MYCONVERTERNAMESPACE"
        mc:Ignorable="d"
        Title="MainWindow" Height="350" Width="525">

    <Window.Resources>
        <converter:InvertBoolConverter x:Key="InvertBoolConverter" />
    </Window.Resources>

    <TextBox x:Name="ID"
             Text="{Binding SelectedRecord.ID}"
             IsReadOnly="{Binding IsNew, Converter={StaticResource InvertBoolConverter}}"/>

</Window>

around this issue Not sure what you mean in read only span, anyway you can override onkeydown event on the input control this will be a safe solution not related to server side control like your solution.
code :
<input onkeydown="return false"  />
<asp:TextBox ID="txtDateTime" runat="server" class="form-control" placeholder="Date Time" onkeydown="return false"></asp:TextBox>

How to set a textbox readonly property true or false

it should still fix some issue This is because the readonly attribute in HTML is designed so that it's mere presence indicates a readonly textbox.
I believe that the values true|false are completely ignored by the attribute and infact the recomended value is readonly="readonly".
