wish helps you You can modify the UI control events for the OK button, so that your own event handler is called for that button and the alert view won't be dismissed until the long-running task has finished. In that event handler attach an activity indicator to the view and start your task asynchronously using GCD.
code :
#import <dispatch/dispatch.h>

// ...

UIAlertView* alert = [[UIAlertView alloc] initWithTitle:@"Test" message:@"Message" delegate:self cancelButtonTitle:@"Cancel" otherButtonTitles:@"OK"    ,nil];

for (UIView *subview in alert.subviews)
    if ([subview isKindOfClass:[UIControl class]] && subview.tag == 2) {
        UIControl* button = (UIControl*) subview;
        [button addTarget:self action:@selector(buttonOKPressed:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
        [button removeTarget:alert action:nil forControlEvents:UIControlEventAllEvents];
[alert show];
[alert release];

// ...

-(void) buttonOKPressed:(UIControl*) sender {

    [sender removeTarget:self action:nil forControlEvents:UIControlEventAllEvents];
    UIAlertView* alert = (UIAlertView*)[sender superview];
    CGRect alertFrame = alert.frame;
    UIActivityIndicatorView* activityIndicator = [[UIActivityIndicatorView alloc] initWithActivityIndicatorStyle:UIActivityIndicatorViewStyleWhiteLarge];
    activityIndicator.frame = CGRectMake(0,alertFrame.size.height, alertFrame.size.width,30);
    activityIndicator.hidden = NO;
    activityIndicator.alpha = 0.0;
    activityIndicator.contentMode = UIViewContentModeCenter;
    [activityIndicator startAnimating];
    [alert addSubview:activityIndicator];
    [activityIndicator release];
    [UIView animateWithDuration:0.3 animations:^{
        alert.frame = CGRectMake(alertFrame.origin.x, alertFrame.origin.y, alertFrame.size.width, alertFrame.size.height+50);
        activityIndicator.alpha = 1.0;

    //alert.userInteractionEnabled = NO; // uncomment this, if you want to disable all buttons (cancel button)
    dispatch_async(dispatch_get_global_queue(0,0), ^{
        [NSThread sleepForTimeInterval:5]; // replace this with your long-running task
        dispatch_async(dispatch_get_main_queue(), ^{
            if (alert && alert.visible) {
                [alert dismissWithClickedButtonIndex:alert.firstOtherButtonIndex animated:YES];
Display contents from a single predefined album

Display contents from a single predefined album

like below fixes the issue I've been playing around with the FB SDK and some examples that exist for displaying FB photo albums, but the examples are much more complex than what I want to do. All I want to do is set the album id for a single album and pull in the contents. That's it, I can style everything after that, I just need to be able to view the contents of one album and pull in the caption for each photo. , hopefully this gives you a hint ;)
code :

if (empty($_GET['album'])) {

//get all albums of page
    $graph_url = "https://graph.facebook.com/PressPlayPrague/albums?       fields=id,link,name,cover_photo&limit=500";
    $albums = json_decode(file_get_contents($graph_url));
        $counted = sizeof ($albums->data); // get the number of albums for later use

//output all albums of given page
for($c=0; $c<$counted; $c++){
    echo ("<div class='wrapper' <a href='?album=".$albums->data[$c]->id."'><div class='stack'><div style='width:180px; height:120px; display:inline-block; background-image:url(https://graph.facebook.com/".$albums->data[$c]->id."/picture?width=300&height=200); background-repeat:no-repeat;'>  </div></div><div class='caption'>".$albums->data[$c]->name."</div></a></div>");

        //get the album pictures replace the $_GET[album] with specific ID and remove the if clause to get only one album
    $pic_url = "https://graph.facebook.com/".$_GET[album]."/photos?fields=picture&limit=500";
    $pictures = json_decode(file_get_contents($pic_url));
    $countpic= sizeof ($pictures->data); // get the number of pics for later use
for($p=0; $p<$countpic; $p++){
echo ("<img style='width:250px; max-height:167px;' src='https://graph.facebook.com/".$pictures->data[$p]->id."/picture' alt='".$pictures->data[$p]->id."'>");

This might help you It looks like you might want the toString method here.
Also, it might be useful to note that most modern web browsers have Developer tools that will allow you to inspect the scripts executed on a page. Pressing F12 will open developer tools in most browsers. https://developer.chrome.com/devtools#debugging-javascript

hope this fix your issue You need to treat the argument as a string and not the context object (window) as a DOM object.
code :
if (msg.indexOf("some_substring") > 1)
Common function for alert view?

Common function for alert view?

it helps some times I want to show alertview in my controller classes. So i have created a common function to show alert & respond to it's action buttons. , Yo need to create an object of that delegate like this
code :
var delegate: alertDelegate?
Alert.addAction(UIAlertAction(title: "Yes", style: .default, handler: { (action: UIAlertAction!) in
  Constant.commonfunction.showLoader(withMessage: "Loading")
      delegate?.okAction(controller: vc)

Alert.addAction(UIAlertAction(title: "Cancel", style: .cancel, handler: { (action: UIAlertAction!) in
  print("Handle Cancel Logic here")
  // Call delegate for Cancel Action Here
    delegate?.cancelAction(controller: vc)
class Utility : NSObject {

var delegate: alertDelegate?

func showActionAlertView(title:String,message:String,vc:UIViewController) -> Void {
    let Alert = UIAlertController(title: "Warning", message:  NSLocalizedString("Alert_Delete", comment: ""), preferredStyle: UIAlertControllerStyle.alert)

    Alert.addAction(UIAlertAction(title: "Yes", style: .default, handler: { (action: UIAlertAction!) in
        self.delegate?.okAction(controller: vc)

    Alert.addAction(UIAlertAction(title: "Cancel", style: .cancel, handler: { (action: UIAlertAction!) in
        print("Handle Cancel Logic here")
        self.delegate?.cancelAction(controller: vc)

    vc.present(Alert, animated: true, completion: nil)
func showAlert() {
    let vcUtility = Utility()
    vcUtility.delegate = self
    vcUtility.showActionAlertView(title: "Message", message: "Message", vc: self)

func okAction(controller: UIViewController) {
func cancelAction(controller: UIViewController) {
