Hope that helps I figured out the problem. Some of my JS files were loaded after the view file whereas others were loaded before the view files. That was just carelessness on my part, sorry.
Also, you don't need to load a view file on the action="/upload/success". See the commented out section of the success() controller function above. Loading a 2nd view file also triggers a JS error. You stay on same page, the index() controller function.

File upload with a progress bar, or accessing the Html 5 File Api from Google Web Toolkit?

I think the issue was by ths following , There are many issues in GWT which makes difficult deal with this:
There is no FormData object in GWT, so you have to use JSNI to get one. RequestBuilder does not support sending FormaData but only strings. RequestBuilder does not support upload or download progress notifications. FileUpload does not support the multiple attribute. The Elemental package in GWT only works with webkit browsers, and I had some issues last time I tried to use the File Api.
code :
import static com.google.gwt.query.client.GQuery.*;

final FileUpload fileUpload = new FileUpload();

  // FileUpload does not have a way to set the multiple attribute,
  // we use gQuery instead
  .prop("multiple", true)
  // We use gQuery events mechanism
  .on("change", new Function() {
    public void f() {
      // Use gQuery utils to create a FormData object instead of JSNI
      JavaScriptObject form = JsUtils.runJavascriptFunction(window, "eval", "new FormData()");
      // Get an array with the files selected
      JsArray<JavaScriptObject> files =  $(fileUpload).prop("files");
      // Add each file to the FormData
      for (int i = 0, l = files.length(); i < l; i++) {
        JsUtils.runJavascriptFunction(form, "append", "file-" + i, files.get(i));

      // Use gQuery ajax instead of RequestBuilder because it
      // supports FormData and progress
        // gQuery ajax returns a promise, making the code more declarative
        .progress(new Function() {
          public void f() {
            double total = arguments(0);
            double done = arguments(1);
            double percent = arguments(2);
            // Here you can update your progress bar
            console.log("Uploaded " + done + "/" + total + " (" + percent + "%)");
        .done(new Function() {
          public void f() {
            console.log("Files uploaded, server response is: " + arguments(0));
        .fail(new Function() {
          public void f() {
            console.log("Something went wrong: " + arguments(0));

Google Drive iOS: Upload HTML file to overwrite an existing Docs file

it helps some times I was able to solve this problem by changing the property convert to YES on the GTLQueryDrive class. The documentation states that it will attempt to convert the file being uploaded into a native Google Docs format.
Hope this helps. Please see the method I am describing from the SDK below:
code :
// Method: drive.files.update
// Updates file metadata and/or content
//  Required:
// fileId: The ID of the file to update.
//  Optional:
**// convert: Whether to convert this file to the corresponding Google Docs
//     format. (Default false)**
// newRevision: Whether a blob upload should create a new revision. If false,
// the blob data in the current head revision will be replaced. (Default
//     true)
// ocr: Whether to attempt OCR on .jpg, .png, or .gif uploads. (Default false)
// ocrLanguage: If ocr is true, hints at the language to use. Valid values are
//     ISO 639-1 codes.
// pinned: Whether to pin the new revision. (Default false)
// setModifiedDate: Whether to set the modified date with the supplied
//     modified date. (Default false)
// sourceLanguage: The language of the original file to be translated.
// targetLanguage: Target language to translate the file to. If no
// sourceLanguage is provided, the API will attempt to detect the language.
// timedTextLanguage: The language of the timed text.
// timedTextTrackName: The timed text track name.
// updateViewedDate: Whether to update the view date after successfully
// updating the file. (Default true)
//  Upload Parameters:
//   Maximum size: 10GB
//   Accepted MIME type(s): */*
//  Authorization scope(s):
//   kGTLAuthScopeDrive
//   kGTLAuthScopeDriveFile
// Fetches a GTLDriveFile.
+ (id)queryForFilesUpdateWithObject:(GTLDriveFile *)object
                             fileId:(NSString *)fileId
                   uploadParameters:(GTLUploadParameters *)uploadParametersOrNil;

should help you out I have an HTML form that lets the user upload a file. I want to then upload that file to my google drive. , Try this -
code :
function doGet(e) {
  return HtmlService.createHtmlOutputFromFile('Form').setTitle('Form')

function upload(obj) {
  var blob = Utilities.newBlob(Utilities.base64Decode(obj.data), obj.mimeType, obj.fileName)
  return 'Done';
<!DOCTYPE html>

        function uploadData() {
            const f = document.getElementById('upFile');
            [...f.files].forEach((file, i) => {
                const fr = new FileReader();
                fr.onload = (e) => {
                    const data = e.target.result.split(",");
                    const obj = {
                        fileName: f.files[i].name,
                        mimeType: data[0].match(/:(\w.+);/)[1],
                        data: data[1]
