Why are .cshtml changes are not reflected locally until app pool recycle? Why did building my project in Visual Studio s

I wish did fix the issue. You need to have the MVC Framework installed, then when you open the project as a website, you should be able to create and edit cshtml files with syntax highlighting. See my answer to the following post for more details:

Does that help Turns out I was making changes in a temporary version of the file. Once I started editing the actual file, changes were reflected on the IIS Express server.
