like below fixes the issue You can use sessionStorage instead. It is automatically cleared when the browser is closed.
Example:
code :
sessionStorage.setItem("isLoggedIn","true"); // Value will be set to null when browser is closed

How to secure local storage and clear it on browser close in ember-simple-auth?

around this issue 1) you cannot "secure" that data. You could encrypt it but that would be pointless as the encryption/decryption code would be open to the user as is all the other JS code of your app 2) if you don't want the session to be persisted you could either use the ephemeral store (in that case the session wouldn't survive a page reload though and you'd lose tab/window synchronization) or you could use the cookie based store which uses a session cookie by default that's deleted when the browser is closed.

};

window.onunload = clearCountdown();
if(total_seconds <= 0){
        clearCountdown();

With these it helps You cannot tell the difference between the browser being closed and the window/tab containing your page being refreshed. The information simply isn't available.
For your specific use case, it sounds like you might be able to use session storage rather than local storage. The point of session storage is that it expires when the user is done with the page. You can try that out with this example:

To fix the issue you can do When a tab (window) is closed, your code can process the unload event.
