SQL : ORA-00906: missing left parenthesis

this one helps. You need parentheses around the foreign key reference. That is how the syntax is defined.
You also need to declare the column. The FOREIGN KEY is an attribute of a column, not a column definition:
code :
CREATE TABLE PRATICIEN (
    num_pra INTEGER PRIMARY KEY,
    nom_pra VARCHAR(30) NOT NULL,
    code_etage SMALLINT,
    FOREIGN KEY (code_etage) REFERENCES ETAGE(code_etage)
);

should help you out You're not specifying a constraint name, and I believe that you need to have the check constraint in brackets:
code :
, customer_number NUMBER (11) NOT NULL
  constraint custnumlen CHECK (LENGTH(customer_number) = 11))

Hope this helps i have been trying to make a simple table and i it keeps coming up with SQL Error: ORA-00906: missing left parenthesis 00906. 00000 - "missing left parenthesis" , You simply need to add the size of VARCHAR colums:
code :
CREATE TABLE USER_TABLE
(
    USER_ID             INT NOT NULL,
    Username            VARCHAR(1) NULL,
    Password            VARCHAR(1) NULL,
    Email               VARCHAR(1) NOT NULL,
    DOB                 DATE NULL,
    Address             VARCHAR(1) NOT NULL,
    First_name          VARCHAR(1) NOT NULL,
    Telephone_number    INT NULL,
    PRIMARY KEY(User_ID)
);
Unsure why I'm getting ORA-00906: missing left parenthesis error. Can't find missing parenthesis

I wish did fix the issue. Can't find the missing parenthesis or figure out why I'm getting the error. , Should be like this:
code :
SQL> create table instructor (ins_id varchar2(10) primary key);

Table created.

SQL> create table course(
  2         CourseNum number(10) constraint course_CourseNum_pk primary key,
  3         courseName varchar2(40),
  4         startDate date,
  5         endDate date,
  6         Ins_ID varchar2(10),
  7         constraint course_Ins_ID_fk foreign key (ins_id)   --> you're missing "(ins_id)" here
  8          references instructor (Ins_ID)
  9      );

Table created.

SQL>
SQL> create table course(
  2         CourseNum number(10) constraint course_CourseNum_pk primary key,
  3         courseName varchar2(40),
  4         startDate date,
  5         endDate date,
  6         Ins_ID varchar2(10)  constraint course_Ins_ID_fk references instructor (Ins_ID)
  7      );

Table created.
