why zip(*k) can't work when k is a iterator?

fixed the issue. Will look into that further , Note that by unpacking, you are essentially doing the same as:
code :
zip(1,2,3,4)

around this issue You've pretty much found the solution; because of the poor design of the STL iterators, the iterator you want needs to contain both a current and end iterator.
If the only application is iterating over a contiguously stored matrix, and the iterators are themselves bound to the matrix (e.g. a column iterator), and the matrices aren't too big, you may be able to simply ensure that there's an additional row in the underlying contiguous memory, e.g. for a 4x4 matrix, allocate 20 entries.

should help you out If your not using SP1 then this VC10 bug might have hit you, there is also some kind of workaround listed there.

Any of those help The * operator is overloaded for iterators in order to give you access to their underlying value, and keep the same semantics as pointers. Pointers can be considered, in some context, as iterators, for example when iterating over a C-style array. That's why you can use C- style arrays in STL algorithms.
The immediate window in visual studio seems to not understand that the * operator is overloaded for your iterator type. That's why you get this error.

it helps some times Suppose I want to implement in C++ a data-structure to store oriented graphs. Arcs will be stored in Nodes thanks to STL containers. I'd like users to be able to iterate over the arcs of a node, in an STL-like way. , Try this:
I'm trying to create an iterator for my DynamicArray class. Why doesn't STL sort work with my iterator?

Hope that helps Your iterator does not meet the C++ library requirements for an iterator. It's not as easy as simply naming something an iterator, in order to create an iterator. The requirements for an iterator span over 30 pages, in the C++ standard.
In nearly all cases, the easiest way to implement a custom iterator is to inherit from the std::iterator template. The template takes two required parameters, and three optional parameters, in order to synthesize all the required attributes of the custom iterator.
