How to parse string data to string and long?

hope this fix your issue The "\d+" regex pattern doesn't include the decimal dot, that's why you are getting 1 (the regex stops at the dot, so you are only getting the integral part here)
You don't really need a regex here... just the split would suffice:
code :
var myFloat = float.Parse(myString.Split(':')[1])

it fixes the issue I do get some weird results when parsing the curl as a pipe (using XML::Twig->new->parse( curl -s "http://..." |): the content appears truncated, changes from call to call...
Things look better if I parse a file created from the curl result, or XML::Twig's native parseurl method, then the result is constant, and what you want:
code :
#!/usr/bin/perl

use strict;
use warnings;

use XML::Twig;

my $twig    = XML::Twig->new->parseurl( "http://apps.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/services/mpconnect_service.cfm?mainSearchCriteria.v.cs=2.16.840.1.113883.6.103&mainSearchCriteria.v.c=130" );
my $summary = $twig->first_elt( 'summary');

print $summary->text, "\n";

it helps some times Whether you should have a string that long or not is a good question (and one you should answer), but a separate topic.
In my experience, if you are getting the "Uncaught Syntax Error: Unexpected String" error, there is some unescaped character in the string causing it to fail (e.g. '";:).

this one helps. You can't do that. SortedMap sorts by keys, not values. If you want it sorted by value, you gotta use ListMap, and can't avoid converting to List:
code :
 ListMap(i.toList.sortBy(-_._2):_*)
