I wish this helpful for you Note that your total task only takes about 1 second. So with a switch interval of 0.001 seconds, there will only be about 1/0.001 = a thousand switches total. The cost of each switch (which occurs "at C speed") is more naturally measured in microseconds than in milliseconds, so a thousand of them remain cheap compared to the total 1 second elapsed time.
To see more of an effect, try setting the switch interval to 1e-6.

I wish this helpful for you Have you tried adding timer.join()? You'll need to join the Timer thread because otherwise the Lambda environment will kill off the thread when the parent thread finishes.

wish help you to fix your issue I will use content from the first answer and I will say that:
What is the tuple and what is its role: a tuple is similar to a list. The difference between the two is that we cannot change the elements of a tuple once it is assigned whereas in a list, elements can be changed. Advantages of tuple: 1) We generally use tuple for heterogeneous (different) data-types and list for homogeneous (similar) data-types, 2) Since tuple are immutable, iterating through tuple is faster than with list. So there is a slight performance boost, 3) Tuples that contain immutable elements can be used as key for a dictionary. With list, this is not possible, 4) If you have data that doesn't change, implementing it as tuple will guarantee that it remains write-protected

I wish this help you I think the newer module threading would be better suited for python 3. Its more powerful.
