it helps some times You are spelling command wrong (three m's)
You are passing it a variable called commmand and it doesn't know how to use that variable.
code :
tk.Button(... commmand = ...
_tkinter.TclError: unknown option "-commmand"

wish helps you On Windows, the tab character is probably not interpreted by the Listbox rendering code but on Mac, it is. Hence, the difference. But I'm unsure about this since, IIRC, Tkinter uses its own rendering code so it should render the same on all platforms. Maybe this is part of the OS's font rendering code (which is more powerful on the Mac).
It's not a problem of encoding since the tab character is the same on all encodings (well, with the exception of EBCDIC but you're not on a mainframe, so ...)

around this issue You are correct: the native menus steal all of the events, and there's nothing you can do about it. This is the price we pay for having native menus on OSX and Windows.
The workaround is to not use a menu for the dropdown. Instead, you can create an instance of Toplevel, turn on the overrideredirect flag, and then manage all of the events yourself. It's a bit of a chore, but it's doable.

Any of those help I'm just adding 1 def with 2 lines of code before it gets indentation error. I'm trying to modify the code that generated from PAGE Tkinter GUI editor for login message box. I really don't know why this happens. , You can try:
code :
grep -C 7 "__init" YOUR_FILE.py | tr ' \t' '.*'
$ grep -C 7 "__init" test.py | tr ' \t' '.*'
........w.=.None
....
....class.Login_page:
....
....*def.cancelLogin(self):
....**msg=tkMessageBox.askyesno("Login.page","Are.you.sure.,.you.want.to.cancel.login?")
....
........def.__init__(self,.top=None):
............'''This.class.configures.and.populates.the.toplevel.window.
...............top.is.the.toplevel.containing.window.'''
............_bgcolor.=.'#d9d9d9'..#.X11.color:.'gray85'
............_fgcolor.=.'#000000'..#.X11.color:.'black'
............_compcolor.=.'#d9d9d9'.#.X11.color:.'gray85'
............_ana1color.=.'#d9d9d9'.#.X11.color:.'gray85'.
............_ana2color.=.'#ececec'.#.Closest.X11.color:.'gray92'.

hop of those help? I don't know what is the problem but you could write it in different way and make it shorter, more readable and maybe then it remove your problem.
You can concatenate inventory using
code :
text = ", ".join(inventorylist)
text = ", ".join(inventorylist)

Label_i.configure(text="In your inventory you have:\n{}".format(text))
line1 = ", ".join(inventorylist[0:3])
line2 = ", ".join(inventorylist[3:6])
line3 = ", ".join(inventorylist[6:9])
text = ",\n".join([line1, line2, line3])
text = ",\n".join(filter(None, [line1, line2, line3]))
inventorylist = ['a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e']

line1 = ", ".join(inventorylist[0:3])
line2 = ", ".join(inventorylist[3:6])
line3 = ", ".join(inventorylist[6:9])

text = ",\n".join(filter(None, [text1, text2, text3]))

print(text)
inventorylist = ['a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e', 'f']

all_lines = []

for i in range(0, len(inventorylist), 3):
    line = ", ".join(inventorylist[i:i+3])
    all_lines.append(line)

text = ",\n".join(all_lines)

print(text)

I hope this helps you . This works for the use case where you're using overrideredirect to get fullscreen, which is somewhat common:
