To fix the issue you can do instead of doing most of the logic in the updateDisplayList, I moved it to commitProperties, but left setting pin.x and pin.y in the updateDisplayList. This fixed the problem I was having.

This might help you Can someone give a hint how to use a listview with a sort combobox and a number of items on a page combobox? I am manually databinding the ListView control on init when there is no postback, and I also databind it when any combobox changes (they have AutoPostBack == true). Seems to work, but when I use the attached pager control, then other pages just don't get selected. , The PreRender event in the DataPage should be binding your data.
code :
<asp:DataPager ID="MyDataPager" runat="server" PagedControlID="YourListViewControlName"
PageSize="3" OnPreRender="MyDataPager_PreRender">

protected void DataPagerProducts_PreRender(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
    YourDataList db = new YourDataList();
    this.YourListViewControlName.DataSource = db.GetAll(); // just an example method
    this.YourListViewControlName.DataBind();
}

Hope this helps The problem is with the virtualization of listviewitems(its a bug in the control).
The solution to this is to set the CacheLength property of the listview's itemsstackpanel.
code :
<DataTemplate x:Key="ListPickerFlyoutPresenterContentTemplate">
    <ListView ItemContainerStyle="{StaticResource ListPickerFlyoutPresenterItemStyle}">
       <ListView.ItemsPanel>
           <ItemsPanelTemplate>
                <ItemsStackPanel  CacheLength="10" />
            </ItemsPanelTemplate>
        </ListView.ItemsPanel>

        <ListView.Footer>
            <Border Height="{ThemeResource ListPickerFlyoutFooterThemeHeight}"
                    Width="1" />
        </ListView.Footer>
    </ListView>
</DataTemplate>

I think the issue was by ths following , the combobox has a property called SelectedIndex. It will start with 0 which stands for the first element.
code :
private void comboBox_SelectionChanged(object sender, SelectionChangedEventArgs e)
{
    int i = comboBox.SelectedIndex;
}

This might help you With reference to the question here the solution is to divide the four items into two sub-containers where each container consists of two items and to add a min-width: 150px; to the main .flex-container. The code can be also found in the JS fiddle here.
code :
body {
  margin: 0;
}

main {
  width: 80%;
  margin-left: 10%;
  float: left;

  box-sizing: border-box;
  border-style: solid;
  border-width: 1px;
  background-color: Chartreuse;
}

.image {
  width: 80%;
  height: 100px;
  margin-left: 10%;

  background-color: green;
  box-sizing: border-box;
  border-style: solid;
  border-width: 1px;
}

.image img {
  width: 100%;
  height: 100%;
}

.flex-container {
 display: flex;
 flex-wrap: wrap;

 width: 80%;
 margin-left: 10%;

 box-sizing: border-box;
 border-style: solid;
 border-width: 1px;
 background-color: red;
}

.sub-container {
 display: flex;
 flex-wrap: wrap;

 flex-basis: 50%;
 flex-grow: 1;
 flex-shrink: 1;
 min-width: 150px; /* Neccessary to break the subcontainers in two lines */

 box-sizing: border-box;
 border-style: solid;
 border-width: 1px;
 background-color: red;
}

.flex-item {
 flex-basis: 50%;
 flex-grow: 1;
 flex-shrink: 1;

 padding-left: 5%;
 padding-right: 5%;

 box-sizing: border-box;
 border-style: solid;
 border-width: 1px;
 background-color: blue;
}
<body>

  <main>

  <div class="image">
  <img src="http://placehold.it/101x101">
  </div>

	<div class="flex-container">

    <div class="sub-container">
    <div class="flex-item">text of flex-item 1 goes into the box here.
    </div>
    <div class="flex-item">text of flex-item 2 goes into the box here.
    </div>
    </div>

    <div class="sub-container">
    <div class="flex-item">text of flex-item 3 goes into the box here.
    </div>
    <div class="flex-item">text of flex-item 4 goes into the box here.
    </div>
    </div>

  </div>

  </main>
