like below fixes the issue "So, the verification process to verify my ownership of the domain name presupposes mysite is currently up and running." Not quite: all you need is DNS for your domain up and running, and then you can create a DNS TXT record to verify your domain. See: http://support.google.com/a/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=60216

hop of those help? Ok, so I've found a slightly ugly means to make this work. Step 1: Assign the role "Super Admin" to the myapp@ user via the admin@ account on Apps (this is temporary).

may help you . Actually there is one free solution, which is not that obvious. Go to AppEngine -> Application Settings -> Add domain -> Sign up for Google Apps Start a free 30 day trial - Do not add the billing options Setup your domain Add the domain to your app engine project When the 30 day trial expire the domain will still work.
