around this issue How do you keep the interstitial page from entering the flow? Eliminate it.
I'm only recently wrapping my head around AJAX, so wish I could give you a more concrete answer, but the general approach is to use something like jQuery to replace the contents of the form
after submission with a "hey, I'm working here" indication and then a load of the new page when ready.

this will help There are multiple ways of doing it, though some will only work in certain browsers. One that I know off the top of my head is to embed a tiny near-invisible iframe on the page. When the user hits the back button the iframe is navigated back which you can detect and then update your page. Here is another solution.
You might also want to go view source on something like gmail and see how they do it.

this one helps. I'm working on a form that is filled using AJAX requests. Once the form is submitted, search results are displayed. If the user hits the back button, the AJAX powered form is in its initial state with only the first select field. , One approach is to use popstate, e.g.:
code :
 window.addEventListener('popstate', function(event) {
    var State = History.getState();
    console.log( 'State: ' + State );
 });

Hope that helps Whenever users click the "Back" button they access a weird browser cache which caches form elements like inputs, selects, etc.
To reverse it, set the default value of the select when users click on the link.
code :

  <select on="change:AMP.setState({ option: event.value })">
<option value="0" selected [selected]="selectedOption > 0 ">choose</option>
<option value="9">blue</option>
<option value="10">brown</option>
<option value="11">green</option>
</select>

<a on="tap:AMP.setState({ klasa: 10101, selectedOption: 1 })"
   rel="nofollow"
   class="button addtocart"  href="https://example.com"
   hidden=""
   [hidden]="option != 9" >link1</a>
<a on="tap:AMP.setState({ klasa: 10101, selectedOption: 1 })"
   rel="nofollow" class="button addtocart" href="https://example.com"
   hidden="" [hidden]="option != 10" >link2</a>
<a on="tap:AMP.setState({ klasa: 10101, selectedOption: 1 })"
   rel="nofollow"
   class="button addtocart" href="https://example.com"
   hidden="" [hidden]="option != 11" >link3</a>

Any of those help I'm trying to use the javascript onbeforeunload event to ask the user if they want to exit the page, but I don't want the event to fire (EDIT: "the event" being the dialog box that pops up asking the user to click ok to leave the site or click cancel to stay on the current page) if the user hits the back button since they will be most likely be staying on my site. , Short answer:
No.
