it should still fix some issue Response redirect as name suggests, redirects the user's browser to new URL, so it doesn't make any sense to pass anything else except the new location in HttpResponseRedirect
If you want to pass some data, so that in the view of new location url you can check for that data, pass it as url arguments e.g.
code :

Share : facebook icon twitter icon

it should still fix some issue I have a view called save_service_request. At the end of the code it redirects to a view called send_confirmation_email. , Use next attribute:
In views.service_order
code :
context = {'next': reverse('views.send_confirmation_email')}
<form action='?next={{ next }}'>
if 'next' in request.GET:
    return HttpResponseRedirect(request.GET['next'])

I wish this help you In one of my view function, under certain condition I want to redirect to another URL. So I am doing , I'm guessing that the regex isn't matching properly. How about:
code :
Should I use HttpResponseRedirect here?

it should still fix some issue This is common practice to prevent the user resubmitting the form after the initial POST request has been processed server side.
If you don't use HttpResponseRedirect after processing a POST request, the consequences might be that you inadvertently insert multiple duplicate rows into your database or send a confirmation email more than once etc.

it should still fix some issue I'm new to Django, and trying to build a small project; currently trying to understand HttpResponseRedirect, which is not working in this case. , you are 'creating' a HttpResponseRedirect but not return it. try:
code :
return HttpResponseRedirect('/main/')
