fixed the issue. Will look into that further I use python sax to parse xml file. The xml file is actually a combination of multiple xml files. It looks like as follows:
code :

I wish did fix the issue. The root node is but the error message shows a bogus close tag right before it. The XML parser probably thinks that is the root node, thus the rest of the XML is the junk after document element mentioned by the error.

wish help you to fix your issue You forgot to start with an html tag. The head element is taken as a root element and there is a junk (body) after this root element (just children, not siblings of root are allowed).
code :
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html> <!-- here -->
    <head>
        <meta charset="UTF-8" />
        <title></title>
        <link href="style/style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"/>
        <link rel="icon" href="images/favicon.ico" />
    </head>

    <body>
        <main>
        <header>
        </header>

        <nav >

        </nav>
        <article>

        </article>
        </main>

        <div class="push"></div>

        <footer>
        </footer>
    </body>
</html>

it fixes the issue You don't need to find the currencyCode object by xpath, you can just do it by ID like you did before like currency = driver.find_element_by_id("currencyCode")
Can you at least give a line number where the assertion is happening as there's a few places the exception could be throwing.

hop of those help? If you add a starting root tag in the beginning and an ending root tag in the end of the xml string, it should work.
code :
    import xmltodict

    xml = 'xml string here'
    xml = '<root>'+xml+'</root>'
    _dict = xmltodict.parse(xml, attr_prefix="")
