it helps some times Format the code properly, use consistent style and nomenclature and throw out the utterly redundant comments and empty lines. The resulting code should be fine. Or “pro”.
Here, I’ve taken the efford (along with some stylistic things that are purely subjective):

wish of those help You can get rid of the first for loop by simply deleting it. It accomplishes nothing useful. When/if the subscript into the map creates a new item, that item will have the chosen key, and your associated int will be initialized to zero automatically.
Personally, I'd probably do things a bit differently, using a stringstream instead of your SplitString(). I'm hesitant about posting code, but I guess I'll trust you...
code :
typedef vector<pair<string, int> > count_vec;

count_vec GetFreqCounts(string const &input) {
    istringstream in(input);
    string line;
    map<string, int> counts;

    while (getline(in, line))
        if (line != "#")
    return count_vec(counts.begin(), counts.end());

Any of those help Assuming you wont to search for "MyVariable" press Ctrl+H and the Find/Replace Dialog should open. Enter "MyVariable" into the "Find what" field and again into the "Replace with" field. Set the Scope to "Current Document" and press the "Replace all" button. A message will popup telling "xxx occurrence(s) replaced.", where xxx is the number you are looking for.
Press the "undo"-Button once, if you want to revert the document-state to unchanged.
