Transient collections for Scala?

I wish this help you This sounds like a really great concept for language like F#, thanks for an interesting link!
When programming with arrays, F# programmers use exactly the same pattern. For example, create a mutable array, initialize it imperatively, return it and then work with it using functions that treat it as immutable such as Array.map (even though the array can actually be mutated as there is no transient array).

this one helps. First, ArrayList does not convert to List, it converts to a Scala Buffer. Second, implicit conversion will not recurse into the elements of your collections.
You'll have to manually map the inner lists. Either with implicit conversions:
code :
import collection.JavaConversions._
val f = Foo.someJavaMethod()
bar(f.toList.map(_.toList))
import collection.JavaConverters._
val f = Foo.someJavaMethod()
bar(f.asScala.toList.map(_.asScala.toList))

Hope that helps There are some results comparing Java hash maps, Scala hash maps, Java concurrent hash maps, Java concurrent skip lists, Java parallel arrays and Scala parallel collections here (at the end of the technical report):

I wish did fix the issue. https://code.google.com/p/google-collections/source/browse/trunk/src/com/google/common/collect/AbstractMultimap.java?r=117 ,
This fact means that there's no serialization right?

I wish this help you This information is not documented anywhere, so unless you talk to the authors yourself, you won't get a 100% sure answer.
The only logical reason I can think of is to remove the need for it in the language specification.

With these it helps I have a code structure like the following. , Making XFile Serializable should solve your problem
code :
object XFile extends Document with Serializable {
