To fix this issue The files that you import into the Subversion repository are automatically compressed.

hope this fix your issue If you have access the repository itself (not a working copy), you should be able to dump the current repository, filter it to only include information about the docs folder, and load it into the other repository.
Would be something like this:
code :
svnadmin dump /svn/old_repos > ./repository.dump
svndumpfilter include path/to/docs --drop-empty-revs --renumber-revs --preserve-revprops < ./repository.dump > ./docs_only.dump
svnadmin load /svn/new_repos < ./docs_only.dump

To fix the issue you can do The wording of the error is incomplete. There should be more information after Could not authenticate to server: rejected Basic.
I guess that the full error is Could not authenticate to server: rejected Basic challenge. In such case, the root cause is invalid password.

may help you . When you are pushing to a bare repo (see "all about "bare" repos -- what, why, and how to fix a non-bare push"), you won't see your file in that repo, because by definition it has no working tree.
You can add a post-receive hook (like illustrated in this post-receive hook) in order to checkout (and see) your files:
code :
/path/to/bare/repo.git/hooks/post-receive:

cd /path/to/bare/repo.git
GIT_WORK_TREE=/path/to/live/server git checkout -f
GIT_DIR=/path/to/bare.git git log --pretty=format: --name-only --diff-filter=A | sort | grep .

fixed the issue. Will look into that further to torek for the heads-up about git ls-tree, which does work while on the server, I was able to write a quick and dirty bash script to go through all of the repositories on the remote:
code :
#!/bin/bash
for f in *; do
    cd $f;
    echo $f;
    echo;
    git ls-tree -r HEAD | grep foobar;
    cd -;
done;

it helps some times In order to checkout to a non-empty folder you should be using in_place, this option was added in 2.6 release, specifically this PR.
Try addin in_place = yes to your option list.
code :
- name: SVN checkout
  subversion:
   repo: <my-ip>/svn/test
   checkout: yes
   update: yes
   in_place: yes
   dest: ././
