Unable to detect Capture Device (webcam) through JMF

I think the issue was by ths following , Make sure that the system you're using it on contains all the required files eg On Windows it requires certain dlls. The easiest way to do this is to use the setup program. Once JMF is properly installed run JMFRegistry?, detect the camera, then register and/or save the results. (In vista you'll need to run it as Administrator for it work) The code should now be returning the list of devices. Assuming the code has jmf.jar added to its project files.
You might be interested in alternatives: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Java_Media_Framework#Alternatives The FMJ project is one that is designed to be API compatible(not everything is implemented yet) and does dynamic device detection.

help you fix your problem The getUserMedia API is only currently supported in Chrome and Opera. As such, the best multi-platform approach will almost certainly need to involve Flash as a fallback. Because iOS supports neither Flash nor the getUserMedia API (currently), you may need to consider developing a native app to support this platform.

it helps some times It depends what do you mean that "searching of the devices never ends". Does it hang or simply search new device again and again?
In first case, when search devices hangs, you should fill new bug ticket on the Webcam Capture github project page. There was a bug which caused devices search to fail and it was already fixed, so if you are using 0.3.10-RC6, you should not observe it. If you are using this version and problem still persist, then again, please fill the bug report and wait for the response from the developers. Link to fill new bug report (don't forget to include logs from console):
code :
WebcamDiscoveryService discovery = Webcam.getDiscoveryService();
discovery.stop();

it should still fix some issue Quite often I am getting the error above per the subject line. , I had the same issue and I used this workaround:
code :
document.getElementById('XwebcamXobjectX').capture();
document.getElementById('XwebcamXobjectX').save();
