fixed the issue. Will look into that further Use the OnTouchListener in this way. Read up on MotionEvent types like ACTION_UP, ACTION_MOVE, and ACTION_DOWN which mean that the key was pressed here, mouse was moved, or key was unpressed here...

should help you out Is stopSound() being called? I think you need to return true in the action == MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN block to tell the system that you handled the event.

will be helpful for those in need You need to handle detecting the other finger. More specifically handling
code :
public void onTouchEvent(MotionEvent event)
    int ptrId = -1;
    int action = event.getAction();
    switch (action & MotionEvent.ACTION_MASK)
        case MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN:
            down(event.getPointerId(0), (int)event.getX(), (int)event.getY());
        case MotionEvent.ACTION_UP:
        case MotionEvent.ACTION_POINTER_DOWN:
            ptrId = action >> MotionEvent.ACTION_POINTER_ID_SHIFT;
            int ptrIdx = event.findPointerIndex(ptrId);
            down(ptrId, (int)event.getX(ptrIdx), (int)event.getY(ptrIdx));
        case MotionEvent.ACTION_POINTER_UP:
            ptrId = action >> MotionEvent.ACTION_POINTER_ID_SHIFT;
        case MotionEvent.ACTION_MOVE:
            for(int i = 0; i < event.getPointerCount(); ++i)
                if(event.getPointerId(i) == inputPad.id())
                    if(enemy != null) {
                        Fighter.collide(player, enemy);

hop of those help? onTouch works everywhere you want (i.e if it's activity or view) as long as you have declared the interface and put the Listener right! On the other hand onTouchEvent is working only inside a View
In other words, onTouch() is used by users of the View to get touch events while onTouchEvent() is used by derived classes of the View to get touch events

hope this fix your issue Do not use getAction() == MotionEvent.ACTION_POINTER_UP as the action will also contain the pointer index.
getActionMasked() will strip out this information, and could be used for comparison.
