this one helps. The simple way would be to have a Callable that talks to the server and returns the Response.

I hope this helps you . if you offload the job to delayedJobs or eventmachine, your webserver can continue working. Then to make sure the client does the busy-wait (is blocked) you could use ajax/javascript and check some url to see whether the job has been done. Supposing that upon succesfull completion you set or change something so a result can be shown.
An alternative approach is to use juggernaut to push the result back to the client.

help you fix your problem Where to look depends on the level of abstraction you interested in.
Books I've know which touch this topic, by level of abstraction:

I think the issue was by ths following , Because the command "ruby hello.rb" will shutdown the web server of thin after you run a request, but the heroku will keep your ruby thread alive on web server, so you could try more time with the HTTP request.
You could do it with this thin start(make sure your current directory has the config.ru) if you have installed the server thin, you will see the resulte as the heroku.

will help you Camel sends automatic a response back if there is a JMSReplyTo set on the incoming JMS message. So in your 2nd route, when the message reaches the end of the route, then the JMS consumer, will send back the message "as its currently is" as the reply message, to the JMSReplyTo destination, with the given JMSCorrelationID.
There is a number of options you can set on JMS endpoint to disable automatic sending back reply. Or to specify a named reply queue etc. See the JMS page for all its options: http://camel.apache.org/jms

With these it helps DROP TABLE and CREATE TABLE can take a lot longer than ordinary queries. You can try to increase the timeouts for these queries.
For example: clust.Timeout = 8 * time.Second
