To fix the issue you can do Most of the parameters are explained in the manual I linked to your earlier question here. Even if that shows the parameters in a property file, the name and semantics of the parameters is the same.
AFAIK you can't easily make a log file roll over every 5 days. The closest to this is weekly rollover. For this you should use a DailyRollingFileAppender as I showed in my previous answer, and set its date pattern to

To fix the issue you can do If you are using Apache Extras™ for Apache log4j™, you may want to use org.apache.log4j.rolling.RollingFileAppender:
code :
log4j.appender.Flows.layout.ConversionPattern=%d %-5p - %c %x %m%n

this one helps. Try the below. I added -%i to file name. That should do the increment part of it. Let me know if it works.
code :
<appender name="file" class="org.apache.log4j.RollingFileAppender">
<param name="append" value="false" />
<param name="maxFileSize" value="10KB" />
<param name="maxBackupIndex" value="5" />
<param name="file" value="${catalina.home}/logs/myStruts1App-%i.log" />
<layout class="org.apache.log4j.PatternLayout">
<param name="ConversionPattern" value="%d{yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss}
%-5p  %c{1}:%L - %m%n />
 for (int i = maxBackupIndex - 1; i >= 1 && renameSucceeded; i--) {
file = new File(fileName + "." + i);
if (file.exists()) {
  target = new File(fileName + '.' + (i + 1));
  LogLog.debug("Renaming file " + file + " to " + target);
  renameSucceeded = file.renameTo(target);

this one helps. This used to work for me (I've switched to the lighter and better configurable NLog), log rolled daily, was written in a subfolder named "Logs" under the app's path.
code :
  <appender name="RollingDebugAppender" type="log4net.Appender.RollingFileAppender">
    <file value="Logs\" />
    <datePattern value="yyyy-MM-dd'-FULL.log'" />
    <staticLogFileName value="false" />
    <appendToFile value="true" />
    <rollingStyle value="Composite" />
    <maxSizeRollBackups value="100" />
    <maximumFileSize value="5MB" />
    <layout type="log4net.Layout.PatternLayout">
      <conversionPattern value="%date [%thread] %-5level %logger [%property{NDC}] - %message%newline" />

around this issue You need to replace M to MB and correct fileName pattern The example below works for me:
code :
<appender name="TIME_BASED_FILE" class="ch.qos.logback.core.rolling.RollingFileAppender">
    <rollingPolicy class="ch.qos.logback.core.rolling.SizeAndTimeBasedRollingPolicy">
        <!-- daily rollover -->

    <encoder >
        <pattern>%relative [%thread] %-5level %logger{35} - %msg%n</pattern>

this one helps. Question 1: I have an very simple log file with just log everything to a file - not rolling file.
code :
property.filename = logs
appenders = console, file
appender.console.type = Console
appender.console.name = STDOUT
appender.console.layout.type = PatternLayout
appender.console.layout.pattern = [%-5level] %d{dd} [%t] %c{1} - %msg%n
appender.file.type = File
appender.file.name = LOGFILE
appender.file.layout.pattern=[%-5level] %d{yyyy-MM-dd HH:mm:ss.SSS} [%t] %c{1} - %msg%n
logger.file.level = info
logger.file.appenderRefs = file
logger.file.appenderRef.file.ref = LOGFILE
rootLogger.level = info
rootLogger.appenderRefs = stdout
rootLogger.appenderRef.stdout.ref = STDOUT
