What's the case when using software licensed under GPL or LGPL

I hope this helps you . charging a fee is not the critical point of GPL, you can charge fees as high as the mt. everest with stuff covered by the (L)GPL. as soon as the GPL-project "touches" your own stuff in most cases your stuff must be GPL from that point on as well.
the LGPL just mildens the "touch".

fixed the issue. Will look into that further For GPL, yes. Any GPL Code/Content that's compiled into your Application or the Package will make it GPL. (Edit: What could be safe is if the Icon is a separate file and is used. That could be a grey area, as you are not using GPL Code to access it. But any attempt to embed it will force your program to GPL, it's one of the most restrictive licenses out there)
LGPL is fine: Any modification to LGPL Content has to be released under LGPL, but using the Code/Content is safe.

To fix this issue IANAL, but I believe this is allowed. There's nothing in the BSD license that prevents you from mixing in code of other licenses, and the LGPL doesn't care what you link it against either. You will be subject to the following restrictions however:
1) For the BSD portion, if there is an attribution clause, you will still need to honor it and include the proper attribution in your documentation etc.

wish help you to fix your issue Firstly, you can definitely use the library. Whether you want to, is a separate question.
If you do not modify the source code, and do not statically link to the library, or rely on internal data structures of the library, then you do not have to distribute the source code of your application to anyone who gets the binaries from you, but you have to distribute the original source code of the library.

it fixes the issue Is there even an accepted interpretation for what the LGPL means when applied to binary assets like an icon? It's pretty clearly geared for source code, which is the reason a lot of the Creative Commons licenses came about.
Without knowing the answer(s) to the above, I'd say you could create an "About" screen that contained the appropriate copyright acknowledgements, and host the modified versions of the icons on a public web page that is linked from the about screen.

I think the issue was by ths following , You can. In fact, you can release your project under basically any license you want; LGPL was created to allow libraries to be released under an open-source license but still used in closed-source programs.
