I wish did fix the issue. Why can't you start app as maximized and let user resize it to whatever size he wants? otherwise if you must set a size based on display size use wx.DisplaySize() to get size of display e.g.

help you fix your problem I think the sizers are changing the size of the window on you - that's what they do, after all. Comment out all the code after and including
code :
self.sizer2 = wx.BoxSizer(wx.HORIZONTAL)

Any of those help I am new to wxPython and I am finding some issues while seting a given size for both frames and windows (widgets). I have isolated the issue to the simplest case where I try to create a Frame of 250x250 pixels. , Add this before your call to app.MainLoop():
